In Amarillo, our ministries serve vulnerable children and families with resources and support to protect children, strengthen families and transform generations.
For Briana, aging out of foster care could've meant hopelessness for her whole family. Instead, she found hope and stability through foster care aging out services with Buckner. The Rieff family knew they could support foster care in Amarillo. Through collaboration with Buckner Foster Care and Adoption, vulnerable children and families are given anything from clean clothes to bedroom furniture to support them in the foster care journey. Lorena, single mother of two sons, fled from a drug-addicted husband. She was able to create a safe home and dreams for the future through Buckner Family Pathways®.
Creating a safe place temporarily or forever
Buckner provides the training and resources needed to become a family to a child for a season or forever through domestic foster care or adoption. Children in these programs are most often referred through the Texas Department of Family and Protective Services due to experiencing abuse, neglect or abandonment. We also respond to mothers experiencing an unplanned pregnancy with counseling and support. Call 855.264.8783 for more information about how you can change a child's life. Visit our office.
Supporting single parents to accomplish their goals
We provide single-parent families the opportunity to live in a safe, secure environment while completing their educational or vocational goals and learning the skills they need to be self-sufficient. Families are provided support through access to affordable housing, financial assistance, counseling, spiritual growth and case management services. For more information, call 806.373.3422 or fill out an inquiry form.
