Buckner continues aid to Bachman Lake families affected by gas leaks
Hundreds of children and families have been evacuated from the Bachman Lake area of Dallas served by the Buckner Family Hope Center as a result of gas leaks that are endangering lives. As a result, families have left their homes quickly, often leaving behind crucial items.
In an effort to ease the financial stress of the evacuations on families that were already struggling, Buckner International has delivered clothing, food and drinks to an elementary school in the area where the items are being distributed.
“The families we minister to already are struggling financially,” said Family Hope Center Director Ricardo Brambila. “These evacuations add to their economic burdens. In the midst of this crisis, we want to continue to shine hope in their lives.”
Buckner brought pallets of items to Stephen C. Foster Elementary, one of the schools the Family Hope Center has partnered with to help children and families, and has set up a room at the school with the items to distribute to families.
There is still a need for items. Donation of items can be made directly this week from 10 a.m.-6 p.m. at Stephen C. Foster Elementary in Dallas. For more information, call 972-467-1288.
