Buckner Family Hope Center™ at Wynnewood celebrates recent renovations
The Buckner Family Hope Center™ at Wynnewood has been serving vulnerable children and families in the surrounding Dallas community since 1996. The campus has offered a safe haven for families looking for support, education and more.
The Apartment Association of Greater Dallas (AAGD) understands the value of updating spaces for safety, function and beauty. This year, the AAGD worked with Buckner to help stretch grant funds for onsite renovations.
They simplified the process and hosted a reverse auction to raise funds. After dividing the needs into small projects, more than $90,000 in labor and supplies were donated to update spaces around the campus. This included kitchen areas, air conditioning upgrades and roofing.
"This was an amazing gift, not just for Buckner, but for this community and the individuals we are blessed to serve here," shared Cheryl Williams, director of the Family Hope Center at Wynnewood. "We try to bring dignity to this community not only in how we serve, but in how our buildings look inside and out."
In October, representatives from the AAGD joined staff at the Family Hope Center to celebrate the renovations.
"We are so thankful to the Apartment Association of Greater Dallas for the gifts of their time and their resources," Williams continued.
