Buckner Retirement Services, Inc. finalizes acquisition of Fort Worth senior living community
Nonprofit senior living provider Buckner Retirement Services completed the acquisition of The Stayton at Museum Way, a Fort Worth senior living community. Renamed “The Stayton at Museum Way by Buckner,” it becomes the seventh senior living community in Texas owned and operated by Buckner, including Ventana by Buckner in Dallas.
The Stayton, one of Fort Worth’s premier senior living communities, remains a class one continuing care retirement community, offering levels of living and care as residents’ needs change including a rehabilitation center, 188 independent living units, 42 assisted living units, 20 memory care units, and 46 nursing units. It is an 11-story Life Care senior living community located at the epicenter of Fort Worth’s West 7th Cultural District.
“We have worked long and hard in preparation for this day,” said Charlie Wilson, president of Buckner Retirement Services. “Our top priority is building relationships with The Stayton’s employees and residents, welcoming them to Buckner, and helping ensure the transition is a smooth and positive experience.”
Buckner Retirement Services is a faith-based, nonprofit organization that provides seniors with dignified living and expert care, promotes an active, healthy lifestyle while maintaining their independence. In January of 2024, five Buckner senior living communities were recognized by U.S. News & World Report and Newsweek for excellence in senior care.
“Our faith-based foundation drives our mission and makes us passionate about service excellence. We serve people from any religion or no religion at all,” Wilson said.
Buckner Retirement Services is part of the nonprofit Buckner International. Founded in 1879 in Dallas, today Buckner seeks to protect children, strengthen families, transform generations and serve senior adults through a variety of ministries.
In Fort Worth, Buckner also provides foster care and adoption services.
