Buckner trustees approve new mission statement for Buckner International

In July, Buckner trustees approved a new mission statement for Buckner International – what we call the purpose of the organization. It’s short and simple but packed with a lot of meaning:

To follow the example of Jesus by serving vulnerable children, families and seniors.

“Never in the history of our generation has serving others been more critical. The vulnerable children, families and seniors we’re called to serve need us now, more than ever,” said Buckner President and CEO Albert Reyes. “Those that were already vulnerable because of abuse, neglect, poverty, loneliness and age are seeing those vulnerabilities magnified during this worldwide pandemic. Now more than ever, serving others means following the example of Jesus.”

Watch this video update from Buckner President and CEO Albert Reyes as he explains what this new mission statement means for Buckner and for those we serve in Texas and globally.
