Today is Independence Day, the day we celebrate freedom in this nation. How are you celebrating?
 
Are you gathering with friends and family for a cookout? Are you going to see fireworks this evening? Do you have a unique tradition?
 
This Fourth of July, we want to celebrate you. Because of the sacrifices of many throughout the history of this nation, you are free to choose how to use your time and resources. You choose to live out Galatians 5:13: “You, my brothers and sisters, were called to be free. But do not use your freedom to indulge the flesh; rather, serve one another humbly in love.”
 
Because you give, because you volunteer, because you open your hearts and families to care for the vulnerable, Buckner is able to serve children, families and seniors.
 
Thanks to you, children have forever families today, single parent families are stronger than ever and struggling families have discovered hope in the midst of their trials.
 
That’s something worth celebrating. Just like you.
