Finding rest in God through busy seasons
I don’t know about you, but I enjoy this time of year when I begin seeing posts on social media of kids on their first day. It reminds me that parents are not only proud of their children, but we as humans are also in a constant state of growth. Time doesn’t stand still. I age as they age, but that is a different topic, for another day!
As we are engaging in the back-to-school season, parents are running around, picking up last-minute school necessities and meeting teachers. Transitioning from summer break with family vacations and fun summer activities to refocusing kids to a structured school schedule and routine can be a challenging time.
As with all of life, there are seasons. And every year around this time brings a season of transition and change for families. With change comes stress, but also anxious anticipation.
“There is a time for everything, and a season for every activity under heaven.” – Ecclesiastes 3:1
During this busy season of life, it is important to remember the One who brings us peace and calm during the most hectic times.
The well-known verse Psalm 46:10 reads, ‘”Be still and know that I am God.” Simply put, yet so powerful.
Even in our busiest times, this is a reminder that God is who he says he is. He is truth, grace and peace. He is sovereign.
As you and your children are adjusting to the first year in school or last, somewhere in between, take time to be still for a moment and rest in the fact that he is God, and he is with you in this season, and every season in life.
