Friday photo: Buckner children in East Texas ‘believe’ in the magic of The Polar Express

Bundled up with their blankets and footed pajamas, children and families in Buckner International programs in East Texas launched the holiday season with a ride on The Polar Express last month.

The Texas State Railroad transforms each year into the train based on the popular children’s book and subsequent Tom Hanks animated movie where a child learns to embrace his potential during a magical train ride to the North Pole. This year, the railroad generously offered free rides for Buckner families on two special nights.

Families enjoyed caroling, hot chocolate, story time and a trip to the North Pole that included a visit from Santa.
