Friday photo: Buckner collects more than 2,000 shoes during annual DFW shoe drive
Throughout the month of August, Buckner and KCBI collected more than 2,000 shoes at participating LifeWay stores for the annual DFW Shoe Drive. The shoes collected will be distributed through Buckner Shoes for Orphan Souls® to vulnerable children in the Bachman Lake area of Dallas.
“We are thrilled with the amount of shoes collected this year during the annual DFW Shoe Drive,” said Rachel Wallis, director of Shoes for Orphan Souls. “We know how much a new pair of shoes offers hope and encouragement to a child in need. A new pair of shoes tells a child he or she is loved. The DFW community has always stepped up to care for the vulnerable, and we are so thankful to each of you who donated a pair of shoes during this drive and for helping provide hope to children in our own community.”
