Last week, 20 Buckner Family Hope Center families in the Rio Grande Valley received a little extra help for the holidays thanks to HEB. HEB gave each of the families a $250 gift card to their stores, which allowed them to purchase some much needed groceries, tolietries or Christmas presents for their children. For some families, they were able to purchase appliances, such as pots, pans and a ninja blender, to help them cook nutritious meals at home. For others, the gift card allowed them to buy Christmas presents for their children they would not have had otherwise. 

In addition to the gift cards, HEB also presented the families with presents for each of their children and a gingerbread house kit, hot chocolate and pumpkin pie to aid in their holiday festivities. 

"We have been able to partner with HEB in this way for the last four years, and each year they go out of their way to bless the families in our program," said Rebecca Ruiz, director of the Family Hope Center in Peñitas. "We are so thankful to HEB and their generousity to the families involved with the Family Hope Center."
