This week Samela Macon, senior director of domestic foster care and adoption at Buckner International presented on "best practices in pre and post adoption services" as a panelist for a Congressional briefing at the U.S. Capitol in Washington, D.C.

The briefing was hosted by The Senate Caucus on Foster Youth Co-Chairs Senator Chuck Grassley and Senator Debbie Stabenow with the purpose to discuss the issue of disrupted and dissolved adoptions. This panel featured experts in the field on how training, education and support for adoptive families can improve outcomes and help more families stay together.
