Part of your plan
Do you ever have a season of life where you catch yourself praying for the same thing in a hundred different ways? Recently, I have noticed a common theme in the prayers I have been praying. I constantly seem, to ask the Lord to “use me to be a part of your plan.”
I am a planner and a fixer. I like to know every detail of my day, week and month. I like to see a problem and directly confront that issue with a solution. I like to think I know exactly when, where and how God is going to use me.
But the more I pray to be the woman God created me to be, the clearer I understand the reality of Proverbs 16:1: “The plans of the heart belong to man, but the answer of the tongue is from the Lord.”
We all have a calling on our life from God, whether that be in a season or over a period of time. But we also all have moments of confusion, impatience and anger when that vision of our call is not coming to fruition in our own timing.
Amid these seasons of waiting and wondering, we can rest in assurance as we read Proverbs 16:2-3: “All the ways of a man are clean in his own eyes, but the Lord weighs the motives. Commit your deeds to the Lord, and your plans shall succeed.”
Although you may be in a place of waiting or searching, we can have hope. When we give our hearts and our ways to the Lord, and when we obey and surrender, we can trust our journeys will be used in mighty ways.
God’s timing is perfect. The mysterious ways he intertwines our stories, passions, skills and callings is a beautiful thing; not something to be afraid or anxious about.
Everything he wants you to accomplish on this earth will be accomplished in his divine timing. Not only will his will be done in our life, but we will be used in the lives of others for his glory.
