Earlier this year, we met Marta and her family, who participate in the Buckner Family Hope Center at Bachman Lake in Dallas.

Through the Family Hope Center, Marta shed her shell and developed a growing piñata business. This year was full of promise as she embraced who God made her to be, her smile illuminating every encounter.

We recently caught up with her to see how she was doing. The last few months haven't been as favorable. She's been bullied. Then she was assaulted in front of her children.

In many of the neighborhoods Buckner serves, this is life. Threats surround our hard-working families attempting to bring them down.

But you wouldn't let that happen. With your help, Marta's family moved out of her apartment complex. They're now in a safe area. They even have another bedroom. 

Marta's business is thriving, as is the rest of the family. The children are excelling at school. Marta continues building a bright future day by day.
