The Buckner Family Hope Center at Wynnewood in Dallas recently kicked off summer with their annual community event "Summer Fam Fest," which included fames, vendors and resources such as health screenings and information.   

In addition to food, games and fun, parents learned about services and summer opportunities available for their families. Social services are particularily critical for children during the summer when help like free or reduced lunches and breakfasts are not available. The Family Hope Center provides programming and aid that empowers, equips and elevates vulberable children and families during that time.

"It's during this event where we highlight the resources and opportunities we have available for the summer," said Cheryl Williams, director of the Family Hope Center. "It's also our way of introducing the Family Hope Center to others in the community. So many of our local residents need that hand up but don't know where to turn. An event like this can help draw them in and really introduce them to all the tools and resources the center can proivde for their family."
