Supporting families impacted by the coronavirus isn’t slowing down at the Buckner Center for Humanitarian Aid. This week, volunteers began distributing food and hygiene supplies – complete with a drive-thru setup. Staff and volunteers are able to still interact with Buckner families by waving hello, placing donations in the trunk and adhering to social distancing. Food donations were provided by Aramark and the North Texas Food Bank.
 
Pre-registered families of our Buckner Family Hope Centers, Family Pathways, Dallas Crisis Relief Center as well as foster care and kinship programs will continue to be supported by this distribution drive-thru over the coming weeks. Opportunities for pick up are two to three times a week and must be set up ahead of time through registration.
 
As of March 25, Buckner staff and volunteers have packed 1,229 food boxes. Volunteers have delivered a total of 735 boxes – providing Dallas police with 26 boxes and 463 Buckner families as well as local churches and staff members in need.

Last week, the Buckner Family Hope Center at Bachman Lake in Dallas also did a drive-thru distribution for food and aid.
