#RUNforSHOES
Did you know that in several of the communities where we serve, children are required to wear black shoes to school? For families struggling to make ends meet, buying new, black school shoes each year to fit their children’s growing feet can feel like a heavy burden.
Children attending public schools in the Dominican Republic are required to wear these black school shoes in order to attend. And in the Santo Domingo communities where our Buckner Family Hope Centers are located, many parents struggle to provide even the most basic necessities for their children—including black school shoes.
That’s why this year, we’re not just running for shoes—we’re running for education.
Proceeds from #RUNforSHOES benefiting Buckner Shoes for Orphan Souls will be used to provide new, black school shoes for children at two Santo Domingo elementary schools through our Buckner Family Hope Centers.
