Buckner International has been certified as a Great Place to Work by the Great Place to Work Institute and its senior care partner, Activated Insights. Buckner International, along with its ministry arms Buckner Children and Family Services and Buckner Retirement Services, all individually received the certification. 

“Certification as a Great Place to Work helps us document that we are an organization that embodies confidence, inclusion, energy and a sense of purpose among our great staff,” shared Dr. Albert Reyes, president and CEO of Buckner International. “It also shows that we respect each individual and value their contributions as we pursue our mission.”

The mission of Buckner International, said Reyes, is to follow the example of Jesus by serving vulnerable children, families and seniors. “This calling extends not only to those Buckner serves outside its walls, but also within the organization of staff.”

The Great Place to Work certification process involved surveying employees and evaluating more than 60 elements of staff experiences on the job. These included employee pride in the impact Buckner has on the surrounding communities, belief their work makes a difference, and feeling their work has special meaning. Rankings are based on employees’ experiences, no matter who they are or what they do within the organization. 

It is the third year Buckner Retirement Services received the honor. In 2019, BRS received a national ranking of 13 on the Best Workplaces for Aging Services (small and medium). 

Reyes said “it’s a great celebration for Buckner Children and Family Services and Buckner International to also receive the certification” as a Great Place to Work. It is the first year Buckner and BCFS engaged in the survey.
